Two quilts from where they are having a heat wave

Adma's second quilt Robyn from Mitchell

These two quilts came from western Queensland which is enduring heat wave conditions this week. The quilt on the left came from Adma near Charleville and this is being quilted in the Starlight e2e machine quilting pattern.  Cream Caribbean backing supplied by KoolKat Quilting. The other quilt came from Robyn near Mitchell who chose the budget I Love It trailing hearts pattern for her quilt.

Something we have not seen for a long time

Candice felft show ribbon quilt Candice red oriental quilt

Here’s something we have not seen for a long time – felt show ribbons.  Candice from Rose Petal Collections, Chinchilla brought us these two quilts today.  The show ribbon quilt is being quilted in an open budget meander e2e machine quilting pattern.  During the ’90s Kathy and Geoff used to make show ribbons for a living, but ours were done using satin acetate ribbon, not felt.  The red oriental quilt is being quilted with the paisley playtime e2e machine quilting pattern in a dark red thread. Red K6280 scroll backing supplied by KoolKat Quilting.

Johnelle’s quilts

Johnelle from St George dropped off 3 quilts while in Toowoomba visiting children at boarding school and attending to business.  Her quilts will be ready for her to pick up on Monday prior to returning home.  In the years we have known Johnelle, she has always been smiling.  At KoolKat Quilting, we like to go the extra mile especially for those quilters from rural and remote areas who have already travelled some miles to see us.  Having been in many of your communities this year holding quilting workshops, we salute your spirit, especially when circumstances may be trying.
