Quilts from the Eastern Darling Downs

The blue spaceship quilt is from Margaret at Pittsworth and she asked for the stars and loops e2e machine quilting pattern on her quilt.   The bargello quilt is from a returning customer, Bev formerly of Mount Isa, now at Crow’s Nest, and she chose the Deb’s Feathers e2e machine quilting pattern for this quilt.

Rachael Wilkins1 Rachael Wilkins2 Rachael Wliknis Toni Larkins

Rachael from Singapore is visiting her mother in Sydney next week and needed to have her quilt quilted, binding attached, and a label to present the quilt as a gift.  She asked for the bountiful feathers e2e machine quilting pattern.  The quilt was completed in 24 hours and leaves by Express Post today.  Toni from Tewantin, another first time customer, sent the pretty pieced quilt which is being quilted with the flower puff e2e pattern

Janette’s quilt and new prices for 2016/7

This Janette’s quilt from Roma – she likes close or intense quilting – here we are using her choice of the alfresco e2e machine quilting pattern.  From July 1, due to increasing operating costs, we have increased the budget pattern range to $3.30 per square foot, and our basting service is now half of that price.  Our standard pattern prices remain the same, and have been unchanged since 2011.  We continue to try to find cost savings and efficiencies wherever we can to avoid increasing prices.  However, we find the utilities such as electricity, council rates, etc do not share this outlook.

Kathy of KoolKat announces final workshop after Eulo

Thank you to the organisers and Paroo Shire Council for welcoming us to Eulo on June 4 where Kathy held a wrapped rope bag making workshop.  The participants made good progress on their projects during the day as can be seen in the photos below.  Kathy has decided she will retire from taking quilting workshops for the foreseeable future as she concentrates on her own projects and other interests.  Eulo’s enthusiasm made a great finale and Kathy and Geoff enjoyed their stay on their second visit to this township.  After Eulo, the KoolKats travelled on via Currawinya NP, Hungerford, Wanaaring, Tibooburra and Sturt NP, Silverton, Menindeee, Lake Mungo, Gundabooka NP south of Bourke, Hebel, Nindigully Gully, Westmar and home.  Trip photos will appear on our Facebook page.
