The quilt on the right comes from Trish from Pittsworth whom we caught up with at the Queen’s Park craft markets in Toowoomba yesterday. She asked for the budget I Love It trailing hearts e2e machine quilting pattern on her quilt. Rose from Stirling W.A. sent the fairy quilt which is being quilted with the daisy chain e2e machine quilting pattern.

Quilts from Quilpie in the far south west
Music and floral applique
Today’s quilts feature a musical theme quilt for a music lover and a floral applique quilt. The bottom quilt comes from Pam of Toowoomba who chose charcoal thread, a red Caribbean backing and the daisy chain e2e machine quilting pattern. We chose the flower puff e2e machine quilting pattern to compliment the applique in Janette’s quilt which arrived today from Roma.
Of princesses, caterpillars and roses
A varied set of quilts arrived yesterday. Karen from Camooweal in the State’s north west sent 2 each of the hungry caterpillar and the princess quilts. The caterpillars were quilted with the dragonflies e2e machine quilting pattern and the princesses with happy times. The bottom quilt came from Lyn in Toowoomba and was quilted with the roseleaves e2e machine quilting pattern.
From the southwest of Queensland
These quilts arrived on Friday, the left hand quilt is from Joan in Toowoomba and has been quilted in the sticky buns e2e machine quilting pattern. The other 2 quilts are from Narelle of Bollon who will collect these quilts early next week on her return trip from Brisbane. The brown quilt is being quilted in the daisy chain e2e machine quilting pattern and the cot quilt with happy times e2e.
Bali Butterfly pattern spreads it wings
For a pattern designed in a weekend as occupational therapy while Geoff and a friend went camping, Bali Butterfly has proved to be Kathy Adams’s most popular pattern during her decade of experience as a quilt pattern designer. Several hundred Bali Butterflies have winged their way to many parts of the world, especially in the US and also have swarmed throughout Australia. It is purchased regularly by quilt shops and distributors. Kathy has taught classes in this pattern throughout western and south western Queensland, while it has been purchased in bulk by quilt instructors as far north as Bali and Mount Isa down to northern NSW. It has also featured in quilting retreats in Bali. The pattern has been made in many colour combinations and sizes. One particular fan of this pattern has made it several times, including one king size quilt where the design was used as the centre panel. Happy birthday Bali Butterfly, the pages of this blog testify to Kathy’s very inspired weekend some years ago! Thank you all those who love this pattern and it is still part of Kathy’s teaching program.

Big quilt from a big country
This is Sue’s king size quilt from Roma. It will be a wedding gift. She asked for a western theme, or something with stars, so we chose the stars and loops e2e machine quilting pattern. We teamed this with a deep red backing and matching thread, after ensuring Sue was happy with a strong thread colour.
Quilts from Toowoomba and nearby
The first quilt is from Betty of Warwick who selected the budget leaf meander e2e machine quilting pattern for her quilt. The next quilts are a similar pattern, but one is for a boy and the other, a girl. Jan from Toowoomba chose the paisley playtime pattern for the girl’s quilt and the budget Deb’s Swirls for the boy’s quilt. The double wedding ring quilt is one of the first quilts made by Pauline from Booval and is being quilted in the budget meander pattern.
